Deeper Groups

SCROLL DOWN

Deeper Groups

Doing life together.

We believe that the Christian life is best lived in community. That's why we have Deeper Groups. A Deeper Group is a gathering of 8-12 people who meet in homes on a weekly basis to deepen their friendships, their knowledge of God, and their impact on the world.

If you're interested in joining a group, email our Deeper Group Coordinator, JV Andres, at deepergroups@galvestoncentralchurch.com.

Seeding Galveston

Sustainable Urban Farming.

Seeding Galveston is a local non-profit corporation committed to creating a sustainable agricultural program to benefit community residents, Galveston Island food banks, and the needy. The organization promotes and teaches sustainable farming techniques, nutritional food choices, culinary careers, and community service. Come help us water, weed, plant, and harvest fresh fruits and vegetables for our neighbors.

We meet on the second Saturday of each month from 8:30am-11am, and Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm-8pm.

For more information, contact Joanna Bordelon at jbordel@comcast.net.

Iconoclast Artists

Iconoclast Artists

Can poetry block the school to prison pipeline? We think it can.

Iconoclast is a growing community of young artists that provides unique support and encouragement for hundreds of students from Galveston's school system and juvenile detention centers.

Founded in 2014 by Marlon Lizama and Matthew Russell, Iconoclast is cultivating a new imagination among the next generation of creators. Iconoclast seeks to nurture improbable friendships that span the boundaries of race, religion, socio-economics and ethnicity, and give the art that emerges a platform. By coming together to write, discuss ideas, and perform, we are building a different reality for our students and our city.
