tours & education offerings
We’re so glad you’re planning to come tour Galveston Central Church! On Mondays and Wednesdays we offer several different options to learn what Central is all about.
Want to tour on a different day? Our staff will follow up with your request and talk through options.
Opening Overview of Central (~30 minutes)
Hear a general overview of our services, our history, and our community identity. It’s recommended to start with this if you’ve never been to Central or haven’t been in a while.
Tour of Downstairs (~20 minutes)
Come see Stokes Hall, the sanctuary, the home store, the clothing closet, the bike room, our shower ministry, and hear the stories of each and how they work.
Clinic Tour (~30 minutes)
Tour our clinic, hear about all the services we offer and how it came to be.
Panel with community members ($50 per speaker for 1 hour)
Hear directly from community members or staff at Central. Discuss with our staff ahead of time if there are specific topics you would like to address in a panel and whom you would like to hear from.
Tour of David’s House (~ 1 hour)
Part of the Galveston Housing Plus nonprofit, David’s House is dedicated to providing safe, low-barrier transitional housing and wrap-around supportive services to help individuals permanently exit homelessness in Galveston.
One-on-one with individual staff members or pastors (length varies)
Time to ask individual Central staff members or pastors all your questions! If you select this option, please write in the name of the person you’d like to speak with or a general description of the topics you’d like to discuss.

serving meals
Outside groups of ten or fewer people can provide and serve lunch at 10:30am on Tuesday or Thursday, or breakfast at 9:00am on Sunday mornings. Our commercial kitchen is available for groups to cook and serve from with the opportunity to prepare or cook the food a day in advance after confirmation with staff. We ask that groups arrive no later than 9am on Tuesdays and Thursdays or 8:30am on Sundays, and give themselves ample time to prepare and get settled in the kitchen.
Groups providing and serving meals at Central are required to send us a Meal Plan at least one week in advance of their visit with details including cooking schedule, a list of all entrees and sides and the quantity of food being provided. Please plan to provide 150 meals for lunch on Tuesday/Thursday, or 50 meals for breakfast on Sunday. We’d love to also be a thought partner with you as you think through meals (we can send you a recipe book of meals that’ve worked before)!
